STATEMENT OF DUTIES

General Statement Of Duties:
Participates in program or project management in the Division of Probation Services to improve managerial procedures and practices in the Colorado Judicial Department’s probation business.

Distinguishing Factors:
The Probation Services Analyst I classification is distinguished from other classifications due to the focus on research, compiling and analyzing data, and providing recommendations based on findings which may influence local or state wide probation policies and procedures. Positions in this classification will participate in, but do not spend more than 50% of their time on ongoing program or project management responsibility.

Supervision is received from a Probation Services Analyst II, III, IV or Division Director.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

Position Overview: The Division of Probation Services (DPS) is currently hiring a Probation Analyst I to work in the Programs Support Unit. While this position may support multiple programs, the current program vacancy is for Interstate Compact. While experience working with the Interstate Compact is preferred, it is not required. Additional essential responsibilities for this position include:

  • Ensures quality assurance and compliance of Interstate Compact case activity through accurate research, verification, and guidance aligned with ICAOS rules and audit standards.
  • Collaborates with judicial districts, nationwide partners and the Colorado Interstate Parole Office to support effective management of Interstate Compact cases.
  • Provides state‑level technical assistance and responds to probation inquiries using expertise in ICAOS rules, policies, and probation practices.
  • Performs reconciliation and data management between the Interstate Compact tracking system and probation systems in compliance with ICAOS and Colorado requirements.
  • Analyzes compliance and workload data and supports national audit preparation to ensure adherence to ICAOS audit standards.
  • Identifies statewide training needs and supports the development and facilitation of Interstate Compact training, rule updates, and process improvements.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills and be service-oriented. Competitive applicants will have experience in one or more of the following areas:
Interstate Compact, JPOD, ICOTS, program support, or stakeholder collaboration. Additional valued attributes include good problem-solving skills, the ability to foster a positive work culture, flexibility, resiliency, collaboration, leadership, and political acumen. Proficiency in using MS Office programs (e.g. Teams, PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and virtual meeting software is preferred. The salary range is $5,800.68 - $8,411.03 per month (FY27). Salary offers are based on experience and other relevant factors.
