Vice President of Governmental Relations and Public Affairs Makingthe case for building infrastructure better

At Resilience Partners, we treat the people who live along our routes as stakeholders whose support and involvement shouldbe earned. That model only works if governments, regulators, and the public understand our objectives and trust us to deliver.

As Vice President of Governmental Relations and Public Affairs, you will own eachlevel of government relations — federal, state, county, municipal, and tribal — and how we show up in the press, in hearing rooms, and at community meetings. Reports directly to Resilience President.

What you will own
  • Government affairs: relationships and strategy across federal, state, local, and tribal agencies; permitting and regulatory navigation (FERC where applicable, state PUCs, county commissions, DOT and environmental agencies); and tracking the legislation and rule making that affects siting, easements, and energy and broadband incentives.
  • Public affairs and communications: the company's external narrative — messaging, media relations, and crisis communications.
  • Stakeholder and community engagement: coalition-building with landowners, local officials, economic-development groups, and advocacy organizations, and public-input processes that surface concerns early instead of late.
  • Permitting strategy: partnering with Project Execution and Landowner Experience to sequence approvals, anticipate opposition, and keep timelines honest.
  • Policy intelligence: an organized, sourced read of the political and regulatory landscape in each study area that feeds go / no-go and corridor decisions.
What done looks like (first 12 months)

Mapped regulatory pathways for active study areas, working relationships with the agencies and officials who matter, a tested public-affairs playbook (messaging, materials, rapid response), and major permits and approvals advanced materially on schedule.

Must-haves
  • 10+ years in government relations, public affairs, regulatory, or community affairs, with real wins in infrastructure, energy, utilities, telecom, or land use.
  • A demonstrated ability to move a permit, approval, or policy outcome — not just attend the meetings.
  • Fluency across federal, state, and local government, and genuine comfort with tribal and community engagement.
  • Excellent writer and public communicator; equally credible with a county commissioner, a reporter, and a landowner.
  • Sound political judgment and discretion; builds trust across the aisle and across the kitchen table.
  • Willing to travel to project regions.
  • Linear-infrastructure siting experience (transmission, pipeline, fiber) and command of easement and land-use politics — including how to make the case for voluntary acquisition.
  • Crisis-communications and earned-media track record; knowledge of broadband or energy-incentive programs.
Role terms

Full-time employee, reporting to the CEO. Base annual salary $190,000–$230,000 depending on experience, plus equity ownership and an annual performance bonus. Position will work out of Denver office. Immediate start.
