General Statement Of Duties:

This classification will support the Director of the Division by managing the operational work of the Division. The incumbent serves as acting Director in the Director's absence.

Distinguishing Factors:

This classification is distinguished by managing the day-to-day operation of the Division of Probation Services. This classification has a high level of independent decision-making authority in visible areas.

This position is a deputy division director position at the State Court Administrator’s Office and serves probation staff in the 24 probation departments throughout Colorado. The Division of Probation Services (DPS) is an innovative service organization, driven by research-based practices. Division management values each staff member’s strengths and encourages a healthy, productive workplace. The position will directly supervise three managers in the Division.

Other duties will include committee and stakeholder work, policy development, problem-solving, legislative assistance, evaluation support, budget development and oversight, training / facilitating, supporting the division director, collaborating with executive level leadership, and general management responsibilities.

DPS is located in Denver at the Ralph Carr Judicial Center (RCJC). Some job responsibilities will require work in the office and in the judicial districts throughout the state. This role offers a hybrid work environment. While some tasks can be completed remotely, regular on-site participation in weekly meetings and division activities is required . The salary for this position is bound by the current compensation range and based on the candidate’s relevant experience.

The current compensation range is $11,059.50 - $16,036.28 per month.

Preferred Qualifications

Applicants will be screened according to minimum qualifications, preferred qualifications, and initial screening questions. The successful candidate will be a proven leader with significant experience in a community supervision setting, managing teams or multiple staff. Additionally, the successful candidate will have experience in managing complex projects, evaluations, or programs in community supervision; collaborating with executive level leadership; developing, managing, or allocating budgets;

and experience with legislation or work with legislators or their staff.
