The team is proud to be one of the region’s most trusted resources for the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of all gastrointestinal and liver diseases. We are currently seeking a Medical Office Scheduler for one of our Denver, CO location.
OverviewUnder the direction and supervision of the Practice Manager, the Medical Office Scheduler will set up office visits for patients and handle general, customer service inquiries. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED with at least 2 years’ experience scheduling for a medical office environment. Experience in the field of Gastroenterology or Internal Medicine is a plus.
The individual will have previous scheduling or insurance referral/authorization experience.
- Answer incoming calls from patients
- Schedule patient appointments to include procedures and follow up visits
- Coordinate with facilities
- Enter patient demographics and insurance information
- Provide detailed directions to patients for preparations prior to procedures
- Support the overall goals of the company
- Perform other job related duties as requested or required
- Medical Assistant or equivalent education
- Experience working with an EMR or Centricity PM a plus
- Advanced knowledge of medical/GI terminology and insurance plans preferred
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and to prioritize
- Excellent customer service and communication skills; both written and verbal
- Excellent computer skills
- Must have a good work ethic and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Professional appearance and demeanor a plus

Education & Experience- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: 2-5 years of prior medical scheduling is preferred
- Entry level (1-4 years experience) and/or meet the basic requirements of the job with the need for additional supervision.
- Excess of 4 years experience if meeting only the basic requirements of the job with need for additional supervision.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient technical (computer) skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Self-motivated with initiative
- Strong sense of ethics
