Position Summary
The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant is responsible for providing therapy services that are planned, delegated and supervised by qualified Occupational Therapists in accordance with the patient's treatment plan.

Position Requirements- Licensure/Certification/Registrations: Certified through NBCOT Current Colorado Occupational Therapy Assistant Certification or certified in another state, with an application made for Colorado certification is required. A current BLS for the Healthcare Provider through the American Heart Association is required.
- Education: Graduate of an Occupational Therapy Associate curriculum accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association with an Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- Experience: TBI and SCI experience preferred.
- Skills & Abilities: Possess strong interpersonal skills in order to build effective clinical leadership. Ability to conduct themselves in a diplomatic and tactful manner with professionals and non-professionals at all levels. Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate, problem solve, and adapt to a changing environment with competence. Possess a dedication to teamwork and commitment to excellence. Must have the ability to apply strong clinical knowledge and decision-making regarding appropriate program progression for people with neurologic disabilities.
Must have basic computer skills.
- Administer the occupational therapy treatment plan as developed and instructed by the Occupational Therapist.
- Perform non-complex active and passive manual therapeutic exercises; therapeutic massage, traction, heat, light, cold, water and electrical modalities of patients.
- Assist the Occupational Therapist with assessing patients' fine motor and development skills for the purpose of determining their deficits and developing recommendations.
- Consult, coordinate, communicate, and verbally present a patient’s Occupational Therapy program and progress towards treating team members.
- Review physician referral and all medical records pertaining to the patient’s condition.
- Maintain treatment equipment and supplies in clean and proper working condition for the purpose of implementing motor/therapy goals.
- Provide training for patients and families.
- Participate in discharge planning, including home checkouts and recommends home modifications as requested.
- Provide occupational therapy treatment in other department areas as requested.

- Employees who are not benefit eligible due to working less than 24 hours/week or being Per-Diem are able to participate in Craig Hospital’s 403B Retirement plan through Empower Retirement.

Salary Range: $24.99/ Hour — $35.99/ Hour
- 12% Per-Diem Differential
