Overview
The Health Facilities and Emergency Medical Services Division (HFEMSD) is hiring for our NEW Complaints Section. Be bold and make a real difference. Starting pay for this position is $80,916 annually if you are not a current State of Colorado employee. Current HFEMS RN Health Professional III employees hired into this role will maintain their current salary. If eligible for step pay increases, an audit on step pay/time-in-series will be performed you are a current State of Colorado Health Professional III employee, the HRBP will audit your current salary and determine an appropriate salary at offer.

Minimum QualificationsExperience only:
- Six (6) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position.
- Current, valid licensure as a Registered Nurse from the Colorado Board of Nursing or any state participating in the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
Education and experience:
- A combination of related education and/or relevant experience equal to six (6) years. Examples: bachelor’s degree in related field (public health, public/health administration, nursing, psychology) and two (2) additional years of related experience.
- Current, valid licensure as a Registered Nurse from the Colorado Board of Nursing or any state participating in the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).

Required:
Submit a cover letter detailing how your education and work experience prepare you to excel in this job. Include specific examples of determining and/or demonstrating compliance with regulations and how you meet the minimum and preferred competencies.
Conditions of Employment:
- A pre-employment background check.
- Current, valid RN licensure (Colorado or eNLC state).
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time throughout Colorado.
- Willingness to work in environments where contagious diseases may be present; PPE provided.
- Be available to report to work during emergencies and COOP activations; travel restrictions may apply.
- Proficiency in word processing and current communication technology; remote connectivity from field locations.
- Annual influenza vaccination or mask requirement (exemptions addressed by law).
- COVID-19 vaccination as required; see notes for exemptions.
- Ability to perform annual N-95 fit testing and PPE training.
- Ability to work occasional evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays as needed.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 45 lbs; walk/stand for extended periods; climb stairs; hold a tablet in a standing position.
- Completion of required surveyor training within six months of service (unless training is unavailable).
- Use of state fleet vehicles; conditions apply.

Preferred and Essential Competencies include experience with evaluating health care facilities, conducting interviews, analyzing evidence, and writing statements of deficiencies. State service experience may be considered as preferred qualifications.
