Nature of WorkWe are seeking a highly motivated, organized, and proactive Sports Dietitian to join our high-performance department. This individual will play a critical role in optimizing the health, recovery, and performance of our athletes through evidence-based nutrition strategies. The Sports Dietitian will work closely with players, coaches, performance staff, medical staff, and food service partners to ensure all nutritional needs are met throughout the season.
This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced professional sports environment. The role requires up to 30% or more travel, depending on team schedules and organizational needs.
The Sports Dietitian will report directly to the Performance Director and/or Vice President of Performance and will be an integral member of a highly driven, collaborative performance team committed to providing world-class support for our athletes.
Examples of work performed- Develop and implement individualized nutrition plans for players, coaches, and support staff.
- Provide ongoing nutrition counseling and education to athletes and staff.
- Support athlete fueling, hydration, recovery, supplementation, and body composition strategies.
- Conduct nutrition assessments and monitor progress through regular follow-ups.
- Bloodwork & Performance Monitoring
- Review and interpret bloodwork and other relevant health and performance markers.
- Develop nutritional interventions and recommendations based on laboratory findings.
- Assist in tracking and monitoring key nutrition and wellness metrics.
- Food Service & Catering Management
- Coordinate daily team meals, snacks, recovery nutrition, and hydration stations.
- Manage food ordering, inventory, and meal logistics.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the organization and catering partners.
- Collaborate with chefs, caterers, hotels, airlines, and restaurants.
- Conduct quality control and ensure food safety standards are maintained.
- Coordinate and oversee all nutrition-related needs during team travel.
- Develop travel fueling plans and ensure appropriate food options are available.
- Organize, prepare, and pack all nutrition-related equipment, supplements, hydration products, snacks, and recovery items required for away games and team travel.
- Manage nutrition logistics and inventory before, during, and after road trips.
- Travel with the team as required.
- Game Day Operations
- Coordinate and oversee hydration strategies for home games.
- Prepare and distribute pre-game, halftime, and post-game nutrition support.
- Coordinate post-game recovery nutrition, including shakes, meals, and recovery snacks.
- Assist with locker room nutrition setup and breakdown before and after games.
- Education & Performance Collaboration
- Deliver individual and group nutrition education sessions.
- Collaborate with performance, sports medicine, strength and conditioning, and coaching staffs.
- Participate in multidisciplinary performance meetings.
- Stay current with emerging research, trends, and best practices in sports nutrition and performance.
- Evaluate new products, technologies, and evidence-based nutritional strategies.
- Contribute innovative ideas to enhance organizational performance programs.

- Minimum
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Sports Nutrition, or related field.
- Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of experience working with elite, collegiate, or professional athletes.
- Strong understanding of sports nutrition, supplementation, hydration, recovery, and performance optimization.
