Outpatient Administrative Rep-OPC, PRN (as-needed)
Position Summary:
The Administrative Representative supports the outpatient experience from admission to discharge. Duties include patient greeting, registration and discharge, appointment scheduling, and liaison between patients and clinical staff. The role tracks census and daily activities of the outpatient department.
Rate of pay: $19.58 – $28.20 per hour, based on experience. Eligible for 12% PRN differential pay.
Position Requirements- Licensure/Certification/Registrations:
Current BLS card from American Heart Association. - Education:
High school diploma or equivalency required. - Experience:
1–3 years front desk experience in a clinic; knowledge of medical terminology, charge entry, Meditech software, Medicare/Medicaid, and commercial insurance preferred. - Skills & Abilities:
Team‑building, conflict resolution, verbal and written communication; organization and prioritization; ability to work multiple phone lines; work collaboratively with departments and physicians; strong Microsoft Office skills preferred.
- Act as contact person for outpatients entering and exiting Outpatient Services.
- Handle incoming Outpatient Services calls; relay messages and/or direct calls appropriately.
- Provide high‑level customer service to patients, staff, and referral sources.
- Cooperate with peer Administrative Representatives to complete daily checks and balances; report issues promptly to the Director of Outpatient Services.
- Liaise between patients and therapists/nurses regarding schedules and changes.
- Communicate effectively with peers, other departments, and physicians to support departmental productivity and collaborative planning.
- Respond efficiently to on‑the‑spot questions and accommodate patient needs as necessary.
