As an IHSS Attendant, you will assist individuals with personal care, daily living activities, and essential home tasks to support their independence and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide skilled personal care including bathing, grooming, dressing, and hygiene assistance.
- Assist with activities of daily living such as meal preparation, feeding, and mobility support.
- Maintain a safe and clean home environment for the consumer.
- Observe and report changes in the consumer’s condition to the Registered Nurse and supervisory team.
- Complete service documentation accurately, including time in/out and care provided.
- Follow infection control precautions, safety protocols, and agency policies.
- Attend staff meetings and ongoing training to stay up to date with best practices.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Ability to communicate effectively with consumers, families, and healthcare teams.
- Successful completion of agency training and competency evaluations.
- Reliable transportation (valid driver’s license or access to public transit).
- Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods (2-4 hours at a time).
- Lift and carry up to 50lbs for transfers and household tasks.
- Sufficient hand strength and coordination to assist with personal care activities.
- Ability to bend, kneel, squat, and reach overhead as needed.
