This position will have hybrid workplace options available but will still be required to report to the listed address at the discretion of the supervisor and based on business needs.

The Prevention Services Division is home to programs that have a broad-reaching impact on the population’s health, including: injury and violence prevention, overdose prevention, food security, health care access, family planning, child and family health promotion, chronic disease prevention and early detection, tobacco control, mental health promotion, suicide prevention, oral health, built environment, program evaluation and epidemiology, and others. Prevention programs reduce poor outcomes and save health care dollars by intervening on issues early, creating better health and quality of life for our residents.

In Colorado, prevention dollars are limited, requiring the division to be strategic in how funds are implemented. Ultimately, the Prevention Services Division mission is to Improve the population’s health outcomes through strategic and targeted programming.

The position is a key strategic leader and seasoned public health professional that is critical to the division meeting its mission to improve health outcomes in Colorado. The position oversees several high-profile prevention units, including Office of Gun Violence Prevention;
