Position: Night Auditor - Embassy Suites Denver Downtown

Overview

Embassy Suites by Hilton Denver Downtown and Convention Center is seeking a Front Desk Clerk to audit, balance, and serve guests with professionalism and efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Audit, balance, and report on all food and beverage outlets (restaurants, lounges, banquets, room service) cash and credit operations, including checks, over/short figures, tally sheets, deposits, counts, and promotional materials.
  • Audit, balance, post, and report on the front desk: room charges, phone calls, zero balance folios, corrections, taxes, disputed charges, over/short figures, deposits.
  • Audit, balance, verify, and report on room information to provide management with performance metrics, preparing statistics and income journal sheets for daily reports.
  • Balance and close all bank ticket codes daily.
  • Run night audit final ensuring all revenues are balanced.
  • Perform check‑in procedures for arriving guests, using manual and computerized methods to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Facilitate guest check‑out, closing accounts and opening rooms for the next shift.
  • Maintain customer relations, answering questions and concerns in person and by telephone.
  • Operate PBX equipment, handling incoming/outgoing calls, setting wake‑up calls, and paging guests.
  • Perform all duties of a Front Desk Clerk, including express check‑outs.
Education and Formal Training

High school education or equivalent experience.

Experience

Accounting background preferred, but not required.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Ability to operate personal computer, cash register, and calculator.
  • Ability to compile facts and figures.
  • Telephone and guest relations etiquette and skills.
  • Moderate hearing required to communicate with guests.
  • Excellent vision required for viewing CRT screen.
  • Excellent speech and literacy skills required for communication and reading reports and numbers.
Physical Demands
  • 90% of shift standing, bending/kneeling repeated.
  • Mobility to reach all areas of the hotel.
  • Prolonged standing.
  • Occasional carrying and lifting of files and office items up to 25 lbs.
Environment

Worksite is an indoor, climate controlled office with fluorescent lighting. 95% of the time will be on a standing workstation.
