• Organizing and maintaining the professional atmosphere of the Department
• Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff, & all visitors
• General cash handling
• Serving, bussing, set up and strike for events
• Emphasis on safety and sanitation
• Assist with other duties as necessary

Required Qualifications

• Current DU undergraduate or graduate student enrolled for the academic year.
• Ability to work outside of normal business hours
• Ability to work over breaks, including Winter Break 2026

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience serving, events or bartending.
• Fritz Knoebel School of Hospitality Management or Daniels College of Business major

Students will be working:

• In a banquet event setting on campus in the Joy Burns Center; within classes and conferences rooms, in addition to interactions inside of an operating commercial kitchen (exposure to some heat & cold, slippery walking surfaces, and some noise).
• On Flexible schedule with class-work and time as a priority
• With a requirement of availability on nights and weekends

Physical Activities

• Physical work and walking across campus
• Ability to stand for multiple hours at a time
• Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 25 pounds occasionally

Compensation

• Event Staff- $19.29/hr
• Manager in Training (MIT) (by promotion only)- $21/hr
• Manager (SAM)(by promotion only)- $23/hr
