Job Description
The Human Resources Manager is a strategic and hands-on HR leader responsible for supporting our Denver and Commerce City, Colorado manufacturing locations, as well as a primarily remote Stone (Field Services) employee population across the U.S. This role enables human capital strategies that drive strong business outcomes and support our aspiration to be the premier building products provider in North America.
Partnering closely with site leadership, field leaders, and functional teams, this role delivers end-to-end HR support while leveraging a centralized shared services model for compliance, payroll, leave administration, and talent acquisition. The HR Manager serves as a trusted advisor to leaders at all levels and plays a key role in building high-performing teams, strengthening engagement, and advancing a people-first culture-regardless of location.
Key Responsibilities
Culture, Engagement & Safety
* Champion and embed our core values of Safety, Integrity, and Inclusion, along with our Behaviors & Mindsets (Customer Centricity, Interconnectedness, Continuous Improvement) across all locations and remote teams
* Partner with EHS to support a strong safety culture, including participation in safety meetings, safety walks, incident investigations, and corrective actions
* Drive employee engagement initiatives, support annual engagement surveys, analyze results, and partner with leaders to develop and execute action plans
* Encourage positive employee relations through visible leadership presence, effective communication, and employee activities
Strategic HR Partnership
* Serve as a strategic partner to frontline, mid-level, and senior leaders by supporting workforce planning, organizational design, succession planning, and team development
* Support leaders in building and sustaining a high-performance culture through performance management, recognition programs, incentive plans, and learning initiatives
* Collaborate with Learning & Development to deliver training, leadership development, upskilling, and succession-focused programming (virtual and on-site)
* Contribute to HR strategic initiatives and cross-functional projects across the Surface Solutions Business Unit and enterprise
Talent, Workforce & Performance Management
* Partner with Talent Acquisition and hiring leaders to support recruiting, workforce planning, onboarding, and pipeline development for both site-based and remote roles
* Coach and train leaders on performance management tools, feedback practices, and corrective action processes
* Actively manage and participate in employee relations matters, including investigations related to performance, conduct, harassment, workplace complaints, and policy violations, in partnership with Compliance and HR leadership
* Support employees and leaders through separations and termination practices, ensuring consistency, documentation, and compliance
Compliance, HR Operations & Shared Services Partnership
* Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, etc.) in partnership with centralized compliance and leave teams
* Apply and enforce HR policies consistently across on-site and remote populations
* Support accommodation requests, leave administration, and time & attendance processes with shared services partners
* Monitor and maintain accurate HRIS data (job assignments, status changes, manager assignments, compensation actions, etc.)
* Support compensation practices including promotions, merit, skill advancement, gainshare, and market adjustments
Data, Reporting & Business Insights
* Maintain strong HR data integrity and leverage HRIS, Excel, and Power BI to produce meaningful people metrics…
