Salary Range: $75,000.00 To $85,000.00 Annually

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Benefits Specialist to own the administration, execution, and continuous improvement of our employee benefits programs. This role requires deep benefits expertise , exceptional attention to detail, and a strong service orientation.

The ideal candidate is proactive, precise, and takes pride in delivering a high-quality employee experience while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and seamless payroll integration.

Key Responsibilities Benefits Administration & Employee Support
  • Serve as the primary subject-matter expert and first point of contact for all employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), short- and long-term disability, life and AD&D insurance, EAP, and wellbeing programs.
  • Provide accurate, timely, and highly service-oriented support to employees, ensuring clarity, confidence, and trust in all benefits-related interactions.
  • Own the end-to-end annual Open Enrollment process, including planning, employee communications, system setup, testing, and final audits.
  • Manage the relationship with the company’s benefits broker and vendors, ensuring strong service levels and proactive issue resolution.
  • Support evaluation and selection of benefit vendors and plan design changes for future plan years.
Systems, Reporting & Payroll Support
  • Own benefits administration and reporting within ADP.
  • Produce accurate, reconciled ADP reports that serve as direct inputs to Payroll.
  • Ensure all benefit deductions, enrollments, changes, and terminations are reflected correctly and on time.
Leaves of Absence & Workers’ Compensation
  • Administer all leaves of absence (FMLA, state, company, and disability-related), coordinating with employees, managers, vendors, and Payroll.
  • Manage Workers’ Compensation claims, documentation, and carrier coordination.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Conduct audits and proactively identify risks, discrepancies, or process improvements.
  • Maintain clear, accurate, and up-to-date documentation.

Qualifications Required
  • Proven experience administering a full suite of employee benefits
  • Strong working knowledge of ADP or similar HRIS/payroll systems
  • Experience supporting Payroll through benefits reporting
  • Experience administering leaves of absence and Workers’ Compensation
  • Experience supporting a multi-state employee population
  • Strong working knowledge of 401(k) plan administration, including enrollments, eligibility, audits, and vendor coordination
  • Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly service-oriented with pride in work quality
  • Ability to anticipate issues and think one step ahead
Preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in employee benefits administration, preferably in a complex or multi-state environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources , Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Prior experience in an individual contributor (non-manager) benefits role with full ownership of programs
  • Experience working in organizations with 500+ employees
  • Demonstrated tenure in roles requiring high precision, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience supporting both HR and Payroll functions with tight deadlines and zero-defect expectations
  • Track record of independent ownership with minimal supervision
  • Experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment (e.g., Open Enrollment cycles, payroll close)
  • Experience improving benefits processes, communications, or documentation
  • Professional certification such as CEBS, SHRM-CP, or PHR (or in progress)
