Did you know there s an estimated 2.5 Billion miles of fiber optical cables placed all around the world!? These cables are deployed underground, on power poles and even along the ocean floor.
This team within the Global Capacity and Infrastructure Development Organization builds tools to improve the velocity of the acquisition and deployment of AWS network infrastructure across the globe.
We are looking for an experienced innovator in our organization to help us define product strategy and accelerate adoption of our internal products. We are looking for a leader with strong technical and communication skills to drive product management across our product suite. This is a high-visibility and high-impact role that will interact with all levels of AWS leadership. The role requires a customer-centric approach where you ll need to respond with a sense of urgency using your technical and business judgement and effectively communicate with leaders and peers.
As a Senior Product Manager - Technical you will be responsible for:
Responsibilities- Managing the lifecycle of a technology product used by internal business developers, fiber planners, and external vendors.
- Planning, executing and delivering an internally and externally facing product, which has a significant impact on the delivery of AWS fiber.
- Working closely with and across Agile teams.
In this role you will bring deep technical and software expertise as well as keen business acumen and judgement. You ll need to rely on your ability to define vision for ground-breaking products and a desire to make industry-wide impact. The environment we work in is dynamic, so you will need to apply a sense of urgency to rapidly deliver services that have broad business impact.
You’ll also:
- Define product features and releases.
- Work directly with engineering to build exceptional products.
- Lead development of long-term product and business strategy & goals with AWS leadership.
- Understand the business context to decisions made within and across groups.
- Work closely with a globally distributed user-base to map user stories. Your users are business developers and technicians delivering the networking capacity to connect every AWS Data Center in the world.
- Work closely with the software development teams as they execute product vision and dive into the distributed architecture to help develop real solutions.
- On a daily basis as part of our team, you have the unique opportunity to understand the growing AWS network and our internal customers’ requirements on solutions. You ll work backwards to devise solutions by influencing the broad customer base and/or to develop software tools with peer teams, working together to maintain a highly deliverable network that delights AWS customers. You design and implement processes that both help the team to systematically deliver business impact to the organization, while also raising the bar on operational excellence.
