Position Summary

Midstream IT Applications is seeking a full‑time Senior Business Systems Analyst to support the Terminal Automation product team. This role is critical to ensuring reliable and efficient load operations across the Light Products, Asphalt, and Crude value chains, where terminal automation directly enables safe product movement, accurate billing, and operational continuity.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with business partners, the Product Owner, subject matter experts, and terminal operations personnel to solve operational challenges and deliver continuous improvements within a SAFe/Agile framework. This role requires strong analytical skills, an ability to understand terminal workflows, and a commitment to supporting activities that are essential to daily product movement.

Key focus areas include understanding core terminal processes, supporting end‑to‑end visibility of load activity, ensuring operational readiness for changes, and maintaining high reliability for mission‑critical transactions. Responsibilities include translating business needs into clear requirements and user stories, improving processes and workflows, coordinating testing and validation activities, and supporting change adoption and hypercare for releases.

A successful candidate communicates effectively with both technical and non‑technical audiences, can simplify complex operational scenarios, and works collaboratively with terminal staff, haulers, IT teams, and leadership.

Because terminal automation underpins 24/7 operational activity, this role participates in an after‑hours on‑call rotation to support issues that could impact load operations outside of normal business hours. Travel requirements are less than 10%.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leads improvement recommendations and presents effectively to senior and executive management and global teams.
  • Presents and leads client meetings with the business and development teams. Communicates with senior leaders for understanding and execution of cross‑functional complex processes and applications to solve client requirements.
  • Provides recommendations for appropriate systems, alternatives and/or enhancements to current systems.
  • Partners with business teams to develop ways to investigate business performance and other measures to gain insight and drive business planning.
  • Leads and serves as a senior resource on cost‑benefit and return‑on‑investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.
  • Serves as a resource to colleagues, mentors, and helps improve the team’s abilities around all IT Service Management (ITSM) disciplines deployed.
  • Leads the development, execution, and creation of the cross‑functional testing strategy, communicating with all stakeholders for technology delivery.
  • Leads the planning, conducting, and documenting of user stories, and user feedback. Effectively communicates feedback with senior leaders for technology improvement.
  • Develops a strong understanding of core terminal workflows and load operations to support reliable, efficient product movement across the value chain.
  • Translates terminal operational needs into clear business requirements, workflows, acceptance criteria, and user stories, simplifying complex processes for cross‑functional partners.
  • Supports end‑to‑end visibility of load activity by tracing operational events through connected processes and identifying issues or integration gaps.
  • Performs structured problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis for load interruptions, data discrepancies, or workflow breakdowns; documents findings and manages corrective actions.
  • Leads planning and execution of functional and integration testing for terminal‑related changes, coordinating with stakeholders and supporting UAT execution.
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner on backlog refinement, prioritization, and ensuring that requirements are clearly defined, testable, and aligned with business…
