Summary
The Director of Project Management is responsible for end-to-end delivery of all major technology initiatives impacting hotel operations. This role owns execution for new hotel acquisitions, hotel off-boarding, property technology implementations, brand standards rollouts, hotel renovations from a technology standpoint, and the associated transition and change management required to ensure adoption and operational stability.
This role is accountable for delivering projects on time, on budget, and in a stable, operationally ready state before formally transitioning ownership to the Property Technology team for day-to-day operations. This is a hands‑on leadership role focused on execution, coordination, accountability, and change leadership.
Key Responsibilities Project Delivery & Execution- Own end-to-end execution of all major IT and property technology projects impacting hotels, including acquisitions, off-boarding, implementations, brand standards, and renovations.
- Ensure projects are delivered in a stable, support-ready state prior to handoff.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, milestones, risks, dependencies, and success criteria.
- Own the transition of completed projects into steady-state operations.
- Lead change management activities to ensure adoption and minimize disruption to hotel operations.
- Develop and execute change plans covering communication, training, and operational readiness.
- Ensure documentation, training materials, and procedures are complete prior to transition.
- Validate operational readiness and monitor post-implementation stabilization.
- Lead implementation of hospitality brand technology standards for major hotel brands such as Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton, or similar.
- Ensure compliance across PMS, POS, CRS, integrations, and infrastructure.
- Serve as the primary point of coordination between ownership, brand teams, and internal stakeholders.
- Lead and manage a small Project Management team supporting acquisitions, renovations, transitions, and implementations.
- Provide clear prioritization, direction, coaching, and accountability across the team.
- Serve as the central point of coordination between enterprise, property, and operational technology stakeholders.
- Ensure enterprise standards and security requirements are met during execution.
- Proactively identify risks and elevate issues with recommendations.
- Establish and maintain consistent project management standards, tools, and reporting.
- Provide regular visibility into project status, risks, timelines, and financials.
- Ensure capital projects align with approved budgets and timelines.
- 8+ years of experience leading complex technology or operational projects.
- Demonstrated experience implementing hospitality brand technology standards for major brands such as Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton, or similar.
- Experience leading change management efforts tied to technology implementations in hotel or multi‑site environments.
- Experience supporting hotel renovations from a technology perspective.
- Strong understanding of hotel systems including PMS, POS, CRS, and supporting infrastructure.
- Proven experience managing acquisitions, renovations, transitions, or large‑scale property implementations.
- Strong leadership and execution skills across multiple concurrent work streams.
- Solid understanding of project financials, capital planning, and vendor management.
- Direct, pragmatic leadership style with a focus on accountability.
