As a Sr. Planning Engineer, Capacity Planning you will own capacity management across Forged Fiber 37’s PON equipment and fiber infrastructure—optimizing port and bandwidth utilization to ensure high performance, reliable service as customer demand continues to grow. bKey Responsibilities b
  • Proactively analyze network performance and traffic trends to identify capacity constraints, anticipate future demand, and support subscriber growth and new service offerings.
  • Design and recommend network architecture enhancements and upgrades that enable scalable, high‑performance capacity growth.
  • Plan and design outside plant fiber modifications required to support evolving network architecture, leveraging GIS‑based planning tools.
  • Develop clear, detailed planning handoff packages that translate strategy and analysis into actionable designs for engineering and implementation partners.
  • Perform network analysis and architectural reviews to support funding decisions and long‑term investment planning.
bRequired Competencies & Qualificationsb
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant experience.
  • 3–5+ years experience of PON network equipment design.
  • 3–5+ years experience of capacity management experience.
  • Requires use of systems, including but not limited to GIS, O2, and Netbox.
  • Experience utilizing ESRI a plus.
  • Knowledge of Outside Plant and Fiber Optic Cable design principles.
  • Preferred knowledge of open access network design principles.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel or equivalent program.
  • Work independently with little or no oversight, be able to self‑manage workload and deliver all projects to meet deadlines.
  • Strong documentation writing and analytical skills.
  • Must be highly adept at collaborating with others, at all levels in the organization.
  • Experience with Metro/Ethernet network a plus.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.

bLocation Based Pay Rangesb

$83,000–$138,000
