Dev Ops Engineer / Platform Automation Engineer
Location: Denver, CO (Hybrid - 4 days onsite) (must be local)
Job Type: Contract

AWS administration + Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD) + CI/CD pipelines + Terraform (IaC) + Docker + Helm/Helmfile + Linux + Python/Bash scripting + Microservices + Istio/Envoy + Git/Git Lab + Networking (DNS/Routing) + Security (IAM, Security Groups)
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and implement Dev Ops automation and infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines for efficient software delivery
- Support and enhance a Kubernetes-based PaaS platform
- Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to enable self-service deployment pipelines
- Manage and troubleshoot production workloads in AWS environments
- 6+ years of experience in Dev Ops, Systems Administration, or Software Engineering (AWS environment)
- 4+ years of experience in:
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
- CI/CD pipeline development
- Strong expertise in Kubernetes (CKA / CKAD certification required)
- Cluster architecture, control plane, resource management, troubleshooting
- Hands-on experience with:
- AWS services and architecture
- Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Helmfile
- Nginx, Istio/Envoy (service mesh)
- Strong Linux experience with scripting (Python, Bash, Shell)
- Experience with Git-based workflows (Git Lab preferred)
- Knowledge of distributed systems (scalability, resiliency, high availability)
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (DNS, routing, etc.)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Java-based application environments
- Exposure to API Gateway and Identity Provider (IDP) platforms
- Prior experience in platform engineering or PaaS environments
