About the role / Ō te tūranga We are seeking a Senior Intelligence Analyst (or a highly experienced intelligence analyst looking for an opportunity to act as a Senior) to provide specialist intelligence support a high-profile investigation.
You will be the sole analyst with experience in supporting investigations – so you will also be responsible for upskilling another analyst to provide backup. The role involves production of timelines, association charts, subject profiles, and other key intelligence products that inform investigative decision-making. The successful candidate may also be required to present and defend intelligence findings in judicial settings.
This is an inter-agency secondment through to the end of October 2026. Interested applicants should discuss this opportunity with their manager before applying. What You'll Do/ Ko tōu ake mahi
* Deliver timely, actionable intelligence to support investigations
* Provide technical guidance and expertise across all stages of the intelligence cycle, including intelligence analysis, network analysis, time lining, profiling, and analysis of competing hypotheses
* Produce intelligence outputs such as subject profiles and briefs
* Develop association/link charts and investigative timelines
* Apply structured analytical techniques to identify risks and patterns
* Ensure intelligence outputs meet evidential and legal standards
* Coach and mentor other team members on best practice for the application of intelligence to support investigations. What You'll Bring / Ko ngā pukenga ōu
* Experience providing intelligence support to investigations, especially in a regulatory context
* Proven use of i2 Analyst's Notebook for link and network analysis
* Ability to produce timelines and association charts for investigations
* Experience working in regulatory or law enforcement environments
* Experience presenting intelligence findings in court as part of a prosecution
* Strong analytical capability across patterns, trends, and risk frameworks
* New Zealand Diploma of Intelligence Analysis, a relevant tertiary qualification, and/or extensive and comparable knowledge and experience gained in a similar role. Completion of i2 training, and/or courses such as Intelligence for Investigation, Advanced Intelligence Methods is desirable. Nāu te rourou, nāku te rourou, ka ora ai te iwi. Salary range / Awhe utu As part of our remuneration framework, the full salary range for this role is $112,754 -$147,932.
(Kiwi Saver/SSRSS employer contributions are additional). From 1 April 2026 our Kiwi Saver employer contribution increased to 3.5%. We offer a range of benefits including:
