Senior Analytics Engineer – Orchard

Full‑time role reporting to the Director of Platform Product and Data. The position can be based in New York with a hybrid schedule (Tuesday and Wednesday) or fully remote in Austin or Denver.

• Own major initiatives on the analytics platform roadmap from scoping through delivery and shape the future direction with leadership.
• Transform new data sources from raw ingestion to production gold‑tier dbt models that the entire company can trust, focusing on speed and quality.
• Create and maintain the prose‑based semantic layer: markdown documentation that explains each model, metric definitions, historical decisions, and potential pitfalls.
• Build and tune an LLM‑powered query layer on top of the semantic layer, including prompts, retrieval, evaluation, and a feedback loop for correcting errors.
• Deploy agents that monitor certified dashboards for anomalies and trend shifts, refining them until executives trust the alerts enough to act.

• 4+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a hybrid data role with ownership of a significant data platform or end‑to‑end migration.
• Deep fluency with dbt and SQL, with strong opinions about grain, testing, documentation, and limitations.
• Comfortable working in Redshift or a similar large‑scale warehouse.
• Experience building useful solutions with LLMs against proprietary data, and knowledge of retrieval or evaluation techniques is a plus.
• Clear technical writing skills; able to explain a metric in a concise paragraph suitable for executives.
• Demonstrated ability to own technical decisions, manage stakeholder expectations, and persuade teams when data constraints exist.

Pay range in Colorado: $135‑$180 k per year. Base pay may vary within this range based on skills and experience. Stock options and other incentive pay may be included. Full range of medical, financial, and other benefits will also be offered.
