Systems Engineer
Job Description
As a Network Systems Developer, you will take on the exciting challenge of designing and developing innovative network systems suitable for both small and large-scale enterprise, data center, or cloud-based environments. You will work independently while also collaborating with vendors and internal groups to validate configurations effectively. Your role will involve contributing business logic to automation frameworks, automating network tasks, and reviewing dashboards to ensure optimal network health.
In this position, you will develop and implement comprehensive test cases and strategies, guiding junior engineers, conducting break-fix validations, and gathering compliance data. You will play a crucial role in defining requirements for monitoring network health through dashboards and alerting systems, conducting incident response, root cause investigations, and creating tools for frontline support teams. You'll work closely with project managers to meet milestones, ensure adherence to networking standards, and provide valuable insights from network performance metrics to support infrastructure growth.
ResponsibilitiesPlanning & Execution
- Manage timelines autonomously, ensuring timely completion of work aligned with project requirements. Prioritize tasks and adapt work plans as resources or timelines change, with minimal guidance.
- Engage constructively with team members to achieve common objectives, leveraging a foundational understanding of business and customer needs to build partnerships.
- Proactively identify and resolve issues, escalating problems to senior staff as necessary. Analyze data from multiple sources to troubleshoot both standard and unique errors.
- Pursue opportunities to expand knowledge and skills in line with industry trends and best practices, utilizing feedback to enhance proficiency.
- Implement process updates to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, contributing ideas for future improvements.
- 6+ years of experience in network engineering, electrical engineering, cloud programming, or networking R&D, OR a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field plus 2+ years of related experience, OR a Master’s Degree in a related field.
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance with Full Scope Polygraph
- Position is based in Austin, TX or Reston, VA
Specific U.S. based or U.S. customer or client-facing roles may be required to comply with applicable requirements, such as immunization/occupational health mandates, and/or drug testing requirements.
Salary and BenefitsHiring Range in USD from $38.03 to $76.06 per hour; $79,100 to $158,200 per annum. May be eligible for equity.
