Position Availability
This position is open to current Colorado residents only. Hybrid, 1-2 days in the office Monday-Friday (Subject to change based on business needs).
About This PositionThe purpose is to oversee maintenance and content additions to BHA’s public-facing website, share responsibility for maintaining BHA’s internal intranet, and support other digital products as needed. The role guides and directs web navigation, page templates, and ensures accessibility for all users.
Primary Responsibilities- Develop and maintain the website content strategy aligned with BHA organizational goals.
- Manage a Drupal‑based website, including content, templates, and accessibility requirements.
- Handle internal website form inquiries and content from BHA teams using Asana project management.
- Ensure consistent voice, tone, and style across the website.
- Audit, update, and optimize department websites for clarity and relevance.
- Recommend plain‑language, accessible, user‑friendly content practices.
- Optimize content for search engines, including keywords, internal linking, and meta data; perform regular maintenance audits.
- Use Siteimprove, or similar tools, to keep the site high‑performing and accessible.
- Make basic HTML adjustments as needed.
- Coordinate with the state development and technology partner Tyler Technologies.
- Support site refreshes and redesigns on an as‑needed basis.
- Collaborate with the Internal Communications Specialist to update and maintain agency intranet.
- Publish and schedule monthly, quarterly, and urgent intranet content.
- Improve intranet usability through clear navigation and page layouts.
- Incorporate employee feedback to enhance the user experience.
- Monitor intranet usage and fix broken links; keep content quality high.
- Publish urgent notices and leadership messages.
- Work with BHA Communications Unit staff and Colorado team to implement a strategic digital accessibility plan.
- Support accessibility collaboration with CDHS and Office of Information Technology teams.
- Review, edit, and update all BHA digital content to meet WCAG standards.
- Assist in posting and updating translated web content to aid customers with limited English proficiency.
- Oversee Siteimprove platform, reviewing and remedying issues to improve accessibility, SEO, and quality metrics.
- Coordinate with Tyler Technologies on technical matters.
Six years of relevant professional experience in:
- Website content management
- Digital communications
- Web publishing or editing
- Drupal content administration
- Accessibility and compliance
- Staff collaboration across departments
- Strong skills in writing, editing, proofreading for web content (clear, concise, accessible)
- Authoring and publishing content
- Setting up basic layouts and blocks
- Managing website menus
- Uploading media
- SEO basics for government websites
- Basic HTML knowledge
OR a combination of related education and experience totaling six years, e.g. a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Web Design, Digital Media, Communications, Journalism, or Marketing, combined with equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with digital analytics
- Knowledge of content governance
- Advanced Drupal content administration
- Further accessibility and compliance experience
- Multi‑media experience (video, images, graphics)
- Standard background check and reference check required.
- Position requires State of Colorado residency at time of application and throughout employment.
- Valid Colorado Driver’s License or non‑restricted U.S. Driver's License required if the employee will drive a state‑owned vehicle during duties.
- Motor vehicle check required if employee will use a state‑owned vehicle.
- Travel required for meetings or conferences as needed.
- Out‑of‑state driver’s license holders must obtain a valid Colorado license within 30 days of employment start date.
- Former State employees who were terminated or resigned under disciplinary circumstances must disclose such information on the application.
