Senior Dev Ops Engineer, Ping Identity

As a Senior Dev Ops Engineer, you will be involved in maintaining our Cloud-based services and managing customer environments. You will take ownership of operational maintenance, including onboarding new customers, upgrading existing environments, and ensuring uptime, performance, and security.

• Manage customer environments and ensure their uptime, performance and security.
• Fulfill service requests related to customer environments to perform normal day-to-day operational tasks, including configuration changes and access requests.
• Onboard new customers by setting up their environments, configuring standard settings and working with the customer to set up connectivity.
• Upgrade and audit existing customer environments to ensure they are up-to-date with the latest software versions, patches, and security standards.
• Monitor the environment for issues and work with the support organization to troubleshoot in the event of issues.
• Collaborate with the development team to deploy new releases to customer environments.
• Document all procedures and maintain an up-to-date knowledge base for other team members.
• Report to the Ping One Advanced Services Software Development Manager.

• 5+ years of experience in scalable, distributed systems architecture.
• 2+ years of experience with Cloud Platforms including AWS or GCP.
• 1+ years of experience in working with Terraform.
• 2+ years of experience with containerization technologies, including Docker.
• 1+ years of experience with orchestration technologies, including Kubernetes.
• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting automated service deployments, including provisions for networking, security, reliability, management, reporting, and configuration management.
• Basic understanding of best practices for deployment automation.
• Experience using Git in a team environment (merge requests, branching, push, and pulls).

• In-depth understanding of networking, including routing, naming, security, network performance, and network failure modes.
• In-depth understanding of the HTTP protocol.
• Understanding of PKI.
• Experience with instrumentation and management of automated deployments.
• Experience resolving customer deployment issues.
• Experience with Python and Bash scripting.
• Experience working with distributed teams.
