City Light & Power (CLP) is seeking a director of IT infrastructure and security to lead the stability, resiliency, and security of our enterprise technology environment. This is a high‑impact, hands‑on leadership role for an experienced IT leader who enjoys staying close to the technology while setting direction, building teams, and driving operational excellence.

In this role, you’ll own infrastructure and security operations end to end—ensuring our systems are always available, secure, and scalable to support business continuity and growth. You’ll play a critical role in incident response, operational maturity, and modernization while influencing how technology enables a mission‑driven organization with national impact.

What You'll Do Infrastructure & Operations Leadership
  • Lead daily operations of IT infrastructure including networks, servers, cloud platforms, and hosted applications
  • Ensure high availability, performance, reliability, and security across all systems and services
  • Act as an escalation point for critical incidents, outages, and security events
  • Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions
  • Maintain accurate system documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures
Security Operations
  • Direct security operations including threat detection, vulnerability management, and incident response
  • Oversee endpoint, network, and cloud security controls and risk remediation
  • Manage and optimize tools such as SIEM, EDR, firewalls, and identity & access management systems
  • Support alignment with security and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, CMMC, NIST)
Process, Metrics & Continuous Improvement
  • Develop, implement, and enforce IT operational policies, procedures, and standards
  • Implement and mature ITIL‑based processes (incident, problem, change, configuration management)
  • Define, track, and report KPIs, SLAs, and operational performance metrics to senior leadership
  • Drive automation, efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Lead, mentor, and develop infrastructure and security team members
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and professional development support
  • Oversee Managed Service Providers (MSP), vendors, and third‑party partners
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support business initiatives
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

What You Bring Required
  • 8–12+ years of progressive IT experience, including 2–4+ years in a leadership or management role
  • Strong hands‑on experience managing infrastructure operations in cloud, on‑prem, or hybrid environments
  • Demonstrated experience with security operations, incident response, and vulnerability management
  • Deep technical knowledge of networking, systems administration, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Proven ability to lead high‑pressure incident and outage response efforts
  • Strong understanding of IT service management frameworks (ITIL)
  • Experience developing operational policies, standards, and technical documentation
