Cyber Security Administrator - Contractor

The objective of this engagement is to provide specialized network and cyber security administration support to ensure state agencies maintain secure, compliant, and modern network infrastructures. The role focuses on mitigating operational challenges, managing hardware life cycles, and executing critical security requests.

• Administrative Daily Responsibilities:
  Review and execution of Firewall Service Requests (FSRs), break‑fix tickets, and formal change requests.
• Infrastructure Modernization:
  Facilitate the decommissioning and refresh of end‑of‑life (EOL) hardware on a recurring basis.
• Compliance Maintenance:
  Implement security controls and configurations to keep agencies aligned with IRS, FBI, and CJI compliance standards.
• Hardware Administration:
  Technical configuration and management of Cisco ASA and Palo Alto firewalls.

• Palo Alto Firewalls:
  Next‑generation firewall features such as zones, security policies, site‑to‑site VPNs, NAT, and basic threat prevention.
• Cisco ASA Firewalls:
  Configuration, troubleshooting, and rule management.
• General Networking:
  Foundational knowledge of routing protocols, subnetting, OSI model, etc.
