The Office of Information Technology (OIT) seeks a Desktop Senior Technical Analyst to deliver Tier II and III desktop support to state employees, contractors, interns, vendors, and county users. This is a key role responsible for providing technical guidance, managing support requests beyond the Service Desk level, and acting as a subject matter expert.
This recruitment is open only to current employees of the Office of Information Technology for the State of Colorado.
Responsibilities- Provide resolution and assistance for current operating systems (Windows 10 and Windows 11).
- Deploy new or rebuilt computers based on OIT and agency security and operational policies.
- Implement enterprise configuration management tool platform installations.
- Handle USB‑based installations.
- Perform Intune‑based imaging installations.
- Support desktop, laptop, and tablet users and resolve problems with Microsoft, Adobe, and other production software.
- Provide resolution, assistance, and limited training to standard supported applications:
- Productivity Software
- Internet Browser applications
- Antivirus‑Security programs
- Proprietary applications and systems
- Receive and/or log service incidents into the ticketing system.
- Assist other IT teams (Security, Server, Network, Voice, etc.) with additional duties as required, including:
- Network troubleshooting
- File Server Management
- Five (5) years of professional experience in a field related to desktop support or a professional service desk environment.
- Additional appropriate education can substitute for required experience on a year‑for‑year basis, but cannot fully replace the qualifications.
- Training or certifications related to the role can count toward substitution for experience and/or education but cannot fully replace the qualifications.
- If a degree is required, additional paid or unpaid experience substitutes for the education on a year‑for‑year basis.
- Experience deploying and supporting Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems (Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows 11).
- Experience with Android OS and Apple iOS (best effort).
- Proficiency in SCCM.
- Ability to communicate technical matters verbally and in writing to non‑technical personnel.
OIT employees must comply with screening procedures when working at state agency locations. A pre‑employment background check will be conducted as part of the selection process. This position may require travel within the state and on‑call duties as needed.
