Quality Assurance Engineer
We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to support the Colorado Judicial Department. The ideal candidate will ensure the quality of custom-built and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications through manual and automated testing. This role involves developing test strategies, creating and executing test cases, identifying defects, and collaborating closely with development teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and user acceptance testing.
- Identify, document, and track software defects through resolution.
- Recommend and implement automated testing where appropriate.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project teams to ensure software quality.
- Validate COTS and internally developed applications against business requirements.
- Review application documentation to determine testing scope and functionality.
- Participate in deployment validation and production support.
- Communicate testing progress, risks, and results to stakeholders.
- Support change management and ITSM documentation.
- Provide Tier III application support when required.
- Mentor junior QA analysts through peer reviews and best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field plus 3+ years of QA/Software Testing experience, OR
- 3+ years of relevant QA, Business Analyst, or Software Engineering experience (equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree).
- Experience writing detailed test plans, test cases, and executing end-to-end testing.
- Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies.
- Experience with defect tracking and reporting.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
