What You’ll DoAs an Architect for the Snowflake Center of Excellence you will lead a small to medium agile program pod and deliver cutting‑edge solutions utilizing the Snowflake ecosystem and adjacent technologies.
- Lead a Pearson agile program pod to deliver holistic solutions in Snowflake and adjacent technologies.
- Drive development on at least one of the main cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Maintain active status of a Snowflake Snow Pro Core certification and one advanced Snowflake certification.
- Work as the Solution Architect of a delivery pod, designing complex delivery patterns and building components of clients’ data platform solutions.
- Lead the delivery pod in Agile ceremonies, breaking down tasks and ensuring timely completion of backlog items.
- Contribute to the internal capability growth, partnership initiatives, and the Snowflake CoE.
- Collaborate closely with Slalom data leaders to drive sales, recruiting, account management, consulting, and operational excellence across the capability.
- Act as a Snowflake SME, supporting business development and guiding clients through best practices in architecture, core data engineering, and scalable analytics.
- Mentor and be a thought leader, recommending emerging technologies that align with client goals and future‑state data strategies.
- Apply a business‑first lens, driving impactful, tech‑enabled outcomes that elevate clients’ competitive edge.
- Embodies Slalom’s core values and culture, bringing authenticity, curiosity, and care into interactions.
As a Principal in the Snowflake CoE, bring a curious mindset, a thirst for knowledge, and a hunger for fearless experimentation to address clients’ most pressing data challenges.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement data solutions using Snowflake, leveraging its capabilities with team collaboration.
- Lead and mentor engineering teams, fostering learning and innovation while driving best practices in data management and performance optimization.
- Engage with clients to understand business challenges and deliver solutions that align with their goals, utilizing Snowflake’s capabilities to enhance outcomes.
- Expert in capturing end‑user requirements and aligning technical solutions to business objectives.
- Experience in leading, designing, and implementing cloud data strategies with multi‑phased implementation roadmaps.
- Significant experience in Snowflake, acting as lead data architect on at least two implementations.
- Expertise in data architecture concepts such as dimensional modeling, data vault, and data mesh.
- Understanding of data management and governance concepts such as data quality and metadata management.
- Experience designing data engineering solutions using open source and proprietary cloud data pipeline tools.
- Experience leading data platform development teams.
- Knowledge of data science and visualization.
- Must have Snowflake Snow Pro Core Certification and ideally Snow Pro Advanced.
- Experience designing Snowflake‑native architectures to support AI and generative AI use cases, including Cortex AI within a secure, governed platform.
- Base salary ranges:
- Boston, Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, New Jersey, New York, Washington DC, White Plains, Orange County: $162,000 - $235,000
- All other locations: $136,000 - $198,000
- Annual discretionary bonus eligibility based on skills, experience, qualification, location, and other factors.
