AI Engineer (Applied/Software), IT Business Analyst
Gensync is an AI services company in Denver building practical workflow systems for clients, with a current push into accounting firms.
We re looking for an AI Workflow Implementation Specialist on a contract basis: someone who can understand how work actually moves inside a client s business, map the handoffs, identify where AI or automation can safely help, and build small working systems around the tools already in place.
Early work may involve accounting-firm workflows like client document uploads, tax checklist status, waiting-on-client-info handoffs, document classification/naming, follow-up drafts, and ready-for-prep workflow support.
This is not about building a new platform first. A lot of the value is helping firms improve the workflows they already depend on.
What this role isn t- It s not a software engineering role. You don t need to be a deep developer, but you do need to be a builder. The core of this work is turning a solution into something real and working with AI tooling, so being able to actually deliver is non-negotiable.
- It s not an AI thought-leadership role. We re not engaging someone to talk about AI or run slick demos. We re engaging someone who applies it to real business problems and delivers.
- It s not a role you ll be hand-held through. You ll start with support and grow into ownership, but the maturity and drive have to be there from day one. If you need someone to show you every step, this isn t the fit.
- It s not a rip-and-replace role. We are not looking for someone who defaults to new platforms or rebuilds. Much of the work will start by improving workflows across the tools a client already uses.
This is the work at full stride. You won t be expected to do all of it solo on day one. You ll grow into leading client conversations and owning delivery over your first few weeks (see how it ramps below). Where it s headed:
- Support and eventually lead the front of an engagement. Join client conversations, help map the workflow, surface real requirements, and understand the business well enough to see where AI or automation applies and where it does not.
- Shape practical workflow solutions. Help decide the right level of implementation for the problem: process change, low-code automation, AI-supported review, tool configuration, or a small custom build.
- Build and deliver it. Implement working solutions using practical tools. That may mean low-code workflows, existing APIs, AI tooling, internal copilots, document-processing steps, or small custom pieces where needed. The goal is working client value, not a demo.
- Understand the workflow inside the organization. See how client inputs, staff follow-up, review steps, tools, and exceptions fit together before recommending a build.
- Work across existing systems. Build around the client s current stack where possible:
Google Drive, SharePoint, Hub Spot, tax software, checklists, email, Zapier, portals, or whatever system the workflow already depends on. - Design for human review. Build workflows where AI can organize, classify, compare, summarize, or draft, but a human still reviews and approves the work.
This ramps by design. You ll start working alongside the founder, who leads client conversations and co-builds solutions with you at first then hands more over as you find your footing. The goal is for you to grow into running both yourself.
- First ~30 days: Ramped on our tooling, our approach, and active engagements. You re in client conversations alongside the founder, who leads them at first, and building solutions in tandem with the team.
- By ~60 days: Taking a bigger hand in the build, owning meaningful pieces of the solution yourself, and starting to drive parts of client conversations as you get aligned on how we work.
- By ~90 days: Co-leading engagements: increasingly running client conversations and owning more of the delivery directly, with the founder handing over more as your judgment proves out.
- Rate: $45–$75 / hour
, depending on experience and fit. Where you land in the range reflects: the depth and currency of your applied-AI experience; how independently you can operate from the start…
