Overview
This Lead User Acceptance Tester is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing end-to-end UAT activities to validate business processes and system functionality before production deployment. They act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, development teams, and QA teams to ensure quality and readiness. They manage the lifecycle of defects found during the UAT phase with continuous testing and validation of automation.
They partner with Agile development teams, supporting both sprint-based validation and formal release readiness.
The Lead User Acceptance Tester will drive end-to-end user acceptance testing for a complex, enterprise-scale program. They will partner closely with the UAT Lead and Lead UAT SME to develop deep functional expertise in the application and become a subject matter expert (SME) on the system. Provide functional guidance and business context to the offshore testing team to ensure high-quality test execution.
They will be responsible for overseeing test strategy execution, including test case design, defect management, and validation of system capabilities to ensure alignment with business requirements.
Define and execute comprehensive UAT plans, scenarios, and test cases that cover all business requirements.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain UAT strategy and test plans
- Define business use-case-based test scenarios and cases
- Coordinate UAT execution across multiple work streams
- Manage defect lifecycle: logging, tracking, retesting, and closure
- Facilitate defect triage and status meetings
- Provide regular status updates to stakeholders
- Collaborate with partner teams for integrated testing
- Ensure compliance with timelines and quality standards
- Validate automated workflows, digitized site processes, and system integrations
- Support sprint-level testing, regression testing (not only end-of-cycle UAT support)
- Partner with Business Analysts to ensure user stories and acceptance criteria are testable and validated
- Support parallel testing across multiple development teams
- BA/BS and 5+ years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or UAT
- At least 2 years of experience working in a testing or business analysis role, with the ability to quickly develop domain expertise, mentor testers from a functional perspective, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders
- Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies
- Familiarity with defect management tools (e.g., JIRA, ALM, or similar)
- Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., HP ALM, Zephyr)
- Basic SQL or data validation skills for backend checks
- Understanding of business workflows and end-to-end processes
- Experience testing automation, workflow orchestration and digitized field processes
- Experience operating in Agile development methodologies
- Telecom build-cycle knowledge (wireless and wireline) and digital transformation initiatives
- High level understanding of SAS, IS BUS-System Integration

The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $84,000. The actual salary will be determined by several factors, including relevant work experience, education, skills, and market competitiveness.
