Denver Technology Audit & Advisory Senior Consultant

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Denver Technology Audit & Advisory Senior Consultant based in United States.

This role offers the opportunity to help organizations identify, manage, and reduce technology-related risks while improving operational efficiency. You will advise clients on complex technology challenges spanning cybersecurity, cloud, AI, data governance, compliance, and emerging technologies. The position combines technology expertise, risk advisory, consulting skills, and relationship management in a collaborative environment. You will work with diverse clients across industries while supporting innovative approaches to technology risk management and assurance.

Accountabilities:

The Technology Audit & Advisory Senior Consultant will support clients by assessing technology risks, improving controls, and delivering advisory solutions that strengthen business performance. This role involves leading project activities, managing client relationships, mentoring team members, and applying modern technology approaches to audit and risk engagements.

  • Lead and execute technology audit and advisory engagements, including planning, fieldwork, analysis, documentation, and reporting.
  • Assess technology risks and identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, efficiency, and business outcomes.
  • Support client initiatives related to cybersecurity, cloud assurance, IT governance, data privacy, AI and data governance, technology resilience, and emerging technologies.
  • Develop audit deliverables including process documentation, work programs, control summaries, findings, and recommendations.
  • Evaluate IT general controls, technology processes, compliance requirements, and risk management frameworks.
  • Apply industry frameworks and methodologies such as COBIT, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, CIS, and ITIL.
  • Assist clients with technology compliance initiatives, including Sarbanes-Oxley technology requirements and internal control programs.
  • Leverage analytics, automation, AI, and other technology-enabled solutions to improve audit quality and efficiency.
  • Manage project activities, establish work plans, coordinate resources, and contribute to successful engagement delivery.
  • Mentor and coach Consultants and Interns by providing guidance, feedback, and development opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with client stakeholders, including executives, while communicating complex technology topics clearly.
  • Stay current on technology trends and emerging risks to provide forward-looking advisory insights.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a technology risk and audit professional with experience delivering advisory services, strong analytical abilities, and a passion for helping organizations navigate evolving technology landscapes.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Business, or a related discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience in internal audit, consulting, assurance services, risk and controls programs, or a related field.
  • Experience with IT audit methodologies and developing professional audit documentation and deliverables.
  • Knowledge of technology control frameworks, including COBIT, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, CIS, and ITIL.
  • Understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley technology requirements and related compliance methodologies.
  • Experience evaluating technology risks across areas such as cybersecurity, cloud, enterprise applications, data governance, privacy, analytics, and disaster recovery.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate complex data and technology issues effectively.
  • Strong client-facing communication skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
