Quality Assurance Engineer

Location:

Denver, CO (Hybrid)

Duration: 10+ Months

Note:

Candidate Must Be Local 1 day per week in person at Ralph Carr Judicial Center

Description

  • Strong foundational knowledge of manual testing principles, including test case design, types of testing (functional, regression, API, performance), and defect management.
  • The technical skill to write, run, and maintain automated test scripts (Playwright, Type Script, Java, k6, MCP, AI-assisted testing, and others).
  • Proficiency in using developer tools, reading error logs, and tracing the source of an issue to provide detailed information to developers (Google Dev Tools, application logs, HTTP requests/responses, stack traces, heap dumps, etc.).
  • Competency with test management tools (Zephyr Scale, Git Lab, etc.) for logging bugs and tracking test progress.
  • Knowledge of various database systems, including relational databases and No

    SQL databases.
  • Experience with specialized test data management and data governance platforms.
  • The ability to analyze test requirements and profile existing production data.
  • The ability to systematically break down complex processes, identify bottlenecks, waste, and variation, and then develop innovative, data-driven solutions is a core skill.
  • The ability to execute predefined test cases and also perform unscripted exploratory testing.
  • Proficiency in translating high-level business and functional requirements into detailed, efficient, and comprehensive test cases.
  • Knowledge of industry-wide quality assurance measures, testing standards, and current best practices.
  • Knowledge of identifying potential quality risks, assessing their impact and likelihood, and formulating effective mitigation strategies.
  • The ability to be proactive in identifying potential issues early in the development lifecycle rather than reactively finding them later.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with software engineers, system personnel, and management.
  • Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Attends meetings and training as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Meticulous attention to detail is critical.
  • The ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor degree and three years of relevant quality assurance/automated testing experience; or three years of experience as a Business Analyst or Software Engineer in the Colorado Judicial Department Or three years of relevant quality assurance/automated testing experience; or three years of experience as a Business Analyst or Software Engineer within the Colorado Judicial Department.

Additional work experience in these or other related fields may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required formal education.
