Contract Details- Position Type: Contract
- Contract Duration: 11 months
- Pay Rate: $110.00 $ 130.00 / Hour (USD)
- Shift / Schedule: Core hours: 9 AM 4 PM CST; 40-hour work week

This organization is undertaking a major CIS modernization initiative, transitioning from a 25-year-old legacy billing system to SAP S/4 HANA for Utilities (IS-U) and Salesforce Energy and Utilities Cloud for Call Center and CRM capabilities. This is a multi-year (4
5), high-visibility program. The CIS Solution Architect will design and govern end-to-end solutions across SAP, Salesforce, and other enterprise systems, ensuring alignment with Architecture Tenets and SAP Clean Core principles. The role expects a solid architecture background and methodology including multiple experiences solutioning across complex hybrid cloud and on-premise landscapes and the application of strong architectural principles. Experience with SAP S/4 functionality and technologies, integration via SAP BTP, SAP Data platforms (BDC), Salesforce, and AWS are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain end-to-end solution architecture for key financial, payment and collections end-to-end business processes across enterprise systems including SAP S/4, Salesforce and supporting systems
- Minimize customizations and enforce Clean Core principles
- Identify new technology capabilities or patterns that might be required and align with architecture tenets and guidelines
- Govern standards and best practices, minimizing customization
- Lead design and implementation ensuring development aligns with proposed architecture
- Collaborate with functional and technical teams
- Ensure resiliency, scalability, security, and performance
- Conduct architecture reviews and present at architecture review boards
- Validate implementation against design
Technical Skills
- Integration and Data architecture skills (SAP BTP, AWS, IBM ACE preferred)
- Cloud / Hybrid Architecture solutioning (AWS preferred)
- Solutioning end-to-end architecture across complex ecosystems
- Architecture solutioning including drafting options and providing a recommendation
- Strong understanding of security, scalability, observability, resiliency and performance design
Non-Technical Skills
- Clear articulation of complex technical concepts to leaders, stakeholder management and technical teams
- Strong business acumen to align architectural decisions with strategic goals
- Independent, accountable, and collaborative
- Comfortable working across teams and vendors
- Experience with Dev Ops, CI/CD, TOGAF, LeanIX
- Utility industry experience a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or equivalent experience (preferred)
- SAP Certified Solution Architect or Technology Professional (preferred)
- 10 years of Architecture experience
- 2 years of SAP S/4 HANA Utilities (IS-U)
- 2 years of SAP BTP and Integration Suite
- 4 years of AWS experience
- Expertise in enterprise level solution architecture across multiple systems including hybrid scenarios
- Strong architectural governance experience and solutioning skills
