- Location: Windsor, CO
As a Sign Language Interpreter, you will facilitate communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their hearing peers, teachers, and staff. Your primary duties will include:
- Providing accurate and effective interpretation of spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa.
- Supporting students in understanding classroom instruction, participating in discussions, and engaging in school activities.
- Collaborating with teachers to adapt instructional materials and strategies to meet the needs of deaf or hard-of-hearing students.
- Assisting in the development of individualized education plans (IEPs) and ensuring that accommodations are effectively implemented.
- Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to educators, parents, and other stakeholders.
- Participating in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in ASL interpretation and education.
- Certification in American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation
- EIPA Certification
- Prior experience in school or educational settings
- Strong proficiency in ASL and English
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and peers
- W-2 Employment Contract
