As a Sign Language Interpreter, you will facilitate communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their hearing peers, teachers, and staff. Your primary duties will include:

• Providing accurate and effective interpretation of spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa.
• Supporting students in understanding classroom instruction, participating in discussions, and engaging in school activities.
• Collaborating with teachers to adapt instructional materials and strategies to meet the needs of deaf or hard-of-hearing students.
• Assisting in the development of individualized education plans (IEPs) and ensuring that accommodations are effectively implemented.
• Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to educators, parents, and other stakeholders.
• Participating in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in ASL interpretation and education.

• Certification in American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation
• EIPA Certification
• Prior experience in school or educational settings
• Strong proficiency in ASL and English
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and peers
