JOB SUMMARYProvide accurate and timely communication (interpretation and translation) with non-English speaking families as needed. Remain on the interpreter list for as needed interpretation, as coordinated by the Language Supports and Services team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSThe minimum prerequisites of formal education, professional work experience, certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, trainings, and other criteria that a candidate must fulfill to be considered for a position. It is essential that certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, and trainings are fulfilled, valid, and not expired.
- Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
- High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma or higher
- One (1) year of professional work experience preferred
- Bilingual in English and foreign language as determined by required district assessment, applicant is responsible for the assessment fee
- Advanced knowledge of educational terms, phrases, and acronyms in English and foreign language
- Intermediate knowledge of inter-cultural communication including sociology-linguistic diversity and variance
- Skilled in interpersonal relations
- Ability to work with others in a team setting
- Operating knowledge of and experience with word processing and interpreting system
- Knowledge of translation software and features for Microsoft Word is required within six months after hire
