Role overview
An AI research project is seeking fluent Kazakh speakers in the San Francisco area to work as language evaluators. The role centers on rating AI-generated text for naturalness, idiomatic accuracy, and cultural authenticity, helping train models to communicate in genuinely human Kazakh. Work is task-based, remote, and paced flexibly around the contributor's schedule.
Responsibilities- Compare paired text samples side by side to assess which version reads as more natural Kazakh
- Read AI-generated passages and rate their overall naturalness
- Spot tone, phrasing, or wording that feels artificial or culturally off
- Verify that vocabulary and level of formality suit the intended cultural context
- Apply structured tags and written feedback describing authenticity, tone, and flow
- Native or near-native fluency in Kazakh, both written and spoken
- Sensitivity to subtle differences in tone, register, and idiom
- Fluent English for following task instructions and writing reports
- Careful attention to detail
- Reliable computer and a quiet workspace for focused reading and writing
- Pay Pal account to receive task payments
- Academic or professional background in linguistics, translation, or a related field
- Typical researcher budgets fall in the $20-$26 per hour range
- Individual tasks show their pay, time estimate, and topic before commitment
- Fully remote with flexible scheduling; many tasks run shorter than one hour, with some requiring up to an hour of continuous focus
