Role

Paralegal I – Real Estate s position is based in Denver, Colorado. The real estate legal team supports every aspect of managing DaVita’s real estate portfolio.

Responsibilities
  • Draft lease renewal amendments, commencement memos, and other lease-related real estate documents (SNDAs, Estoppels, Option Notice Letters, etc.) under the supervision of a DaVita attorney.
  • Conduct lease reviews and provide review summaries and possible solutions, when appropriate, to real estate and business teams.
  • Work collaboratively with a team of high performing paralegals to help manage DaVita’s existing real estate portfolio.
  • Work closely with and collaborate with internal and external business partners, as well as other legal teams on various regulatory and other lease-related real estate matters.
  • Prepare and update forms, policies and processes as needed and prepare other communications to support the business.
  • Assist with and/or coordination of special projects.
  • Have a proficient understanding and use of IT applications and workflows.
  • Actively participate in development and implementation of best practices and procedures.
  • Maintain poise, accountability and stability in meeting document and other deadlines and assist with deadline planning.
  • Participate in legal department activities and contribute to a teamwork environment.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 2+ years related real estate legal experience.
  • Associate’s Degree or Paralegal Certificate
Preferred Qualifications
  • Large law firm, real estate boutique law firm or in-house corporate experience.
  • Legal experience in lease-related real estate matters.
  • Knowledge of healthcare law or willingness to learn.
  • Passion for innovation and change management.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Ability to identify and set priorities.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • High level of initiative.
  • Strong experience in improving processes and producing work product that aligns with corporate goals.
  • Ability to partner with leadership and supporting roles on cross-functional projects and cross-functional teams.
  • Competence in the use of technology and standard MS Office applications.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage shifting demands and tight deadlines.
  • Graduate of an ABA-approved paralegal program.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
