About the Work UnitThe Colorado Bureau of Investigation Forensic Services maintains four operational forensic science laboratories throughout the state:
Denver, Pueblo, Grand Junction, and The Northern Region. Forensic Services is responsible for the scientific analysis of physical evidence collected from crime scenes. All work is completed under the CBIFS Quality and Management system in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation standards.
- Typical work hours:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. - Primary work will be out of an office. Majority in-person position.
- 50% active work moving, lifting, organizing objects.
- 50% office work including data entry.
This position enters information into various information/database systems in support of the Firearms section and the forensic laboratory system. Utilizes various databases/information systems within CBI such as the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN) and the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). This position may be called upon to provide courtroom testimony. Enters case information into LIMS and receives evidence from submitting agencies.
Provides additional evidence support as needed.
