What Will You Be Doing?

The Sr. Manager – AOG Purchasing Management is responsible for sourcing and coordinating logistics of critical part requirements. You will ensure a source of supply via purchase, transfer, borrow, exchange, and expeditions, analyze stock‑out situations, and recommend corrective actions. As a senior member of the Materials department, you lead, mentor, and train AOG personnel and participate in technical reviews.

Essential Functions
  • Coordinate all AOG activity and maintain service levels.
  • Act as a liaison among Purchasing, Repair/Warranty, Material Services, Maintenance Planning, and Maintenance Operations Control centers.
  • Manage loan/borrow metrics and keep them within budget.
  • Accurately report and proactively improve other metrics on a monthly basis.
  • Handle inventory issues including robbed parts, MEL items, CDL items, NEF items, part delays, and critical spares inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, purchasing policy, relevant GMMs, CFRs, and SOX requirements.
  • Participate in daily operations meetings and communicate material status.
  • Motivate, coach, train, select, and schedule the AOG and Material Planning team.
  • Train AOG personnel in technical manuals.
  • Manage sales and order transactions with other operators.
  • Report safety issues promptly in accordance with the company SMS policy.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field required;
    Master’s degree preferred. Equivalent education and experience may substitute.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, including 2+ in a materials environment and 3+ in supervisory roles.
  • Preferred:
    Experience in an airline or aviation field.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Self‑initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to collaborate and reach consensus in a professional setting.
  • Thorough understanding of all modes of transportation and logistics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective negotiation skills with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Capacity to handle time‑sensitive, multi‑faced projects.
  • Strong proficiency in technical manuals (IPC, AMM, CMM, wiring diagrams).
  • Complete understanding of Technical Operations, Maintenance Planning, Engineering, Maintenance Control, Reliability, Line Maintenance, and Quality.

  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Leadership skills in facilitating discussions and resolving conflicts.
