SVP, Supply Chain

Reporting to the Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, the VP, Supply Chain provides enterprise leadership across all procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, material logistics, fleet, and nuclear supply chain activities. The role is accountable for three outcomes: (1) translating a ~$60B multi-year capital plan into secured, on-time, cost-effective supply; (2) embedding AI and data-driven decision-making across the function; and (3) operating with the governance, safety, and regulatory rigor a regulated utility demands.

This is equal parts capital-execution role and transformation role.

Key responsibilities

  • Translate the ~$60B multi-year capital plan into a sourcing and supplier-capacity strategy that secures long-lead equipment — transformers, switch gear, turbines, conductor, and battery storage — and EPC and contractor capacity well ahead of need.
  • Lead strategic supplier partnerships and capacity-reservation arrangements with critical OEMs and EPC partners to convert plan into execution certainty.
  • Drive standardization of equipment and specifications as a core lever for cost, schedule, and constructability across the program.
  • Structure EPC and construction contracting strategies that balance risk-sharing, schedule assurance, and total cost of ownership.
  • Manage exposure to tariffs (including Section 232), trade policy, and global commodity volatility across the capital portfolio.

Supply chain strategy, governance & operating model

  • Set enterprise supply chain and fleet strategy aligned to business and regulatory goals, and design a future-proof, scalable operating model that adapts to load growth and market shifts.
  • Establish and enforce procurement governance, policies, controls, and delegations of authority consistent with regulatory and prudency standards.
  • Mature category management as the operating backbone, with an internal-service orientation that puts business-unit needs first.

AI, data & digital transformation

  • Build the data foundation — clean spend, supplier, and ERP/MRP data — required to make analytics and AI dependable.
  • Deploy AI and advanced analytics for demand forecasting, inventory optimization, should-cost and category intelligence, and supplier-risk and lead-time sensing.
  • Apply generative and agentic AI to automate sourcing, procure-to-pay (building on the Coupa platform), and spend analytics — improving cycle time, transparency, and value capture.
  • Establish responsible-AI governance and upskill the organization for AI fluency, ensuring human accountability over critical decisions.

Supplier partnerships & category management

  • Develop deep, long-term partnerships with strategic suppliers to improve quality, lead times, responsiveness, and innovation.
  • Oversee direct and indirect category strategies spanning the materials, equipment, services, and contractors needed to build, operate, and maintain physical infrastructure.

Fleet, logistics & inventory

  • Oversee fleet operations and the Zero-Emission Vehicle / electrification strategy, ensuring a safety-first environment and regulatory compliance.
  • Optimize inventory planning, warehousing, transportation, and distribution across a multi-site network, balancing availability against carrying cost and stockouts.

Nuclear & safety-critical supply chains

  • Ensure quality assurance, supplier qualification, and long-term assurance for nuclear and other safety-critical materials and services, meeting heightened regulatory rigor.

Risk, resilience & compliance

  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risk — geopolitical, tariff, supplier-concentration, cyber, and disruption — with contingency and business-continuity plans.
  • Ensure all procurement activity complies with legal, regulatory, industry, and ethical standards.

Financial stewardship & value creation

  • Deliver cost-reduction and value-creation objectives, and optimize working capital through payment terms, inventory, and consignment strategies.
  • Support regulatory cost recovery and prudency through disciplined documentation and total-cost-of-ownership discipline.
  • Track and report key procurement metrics with transparency and alignment to financial goals.
