Job Description & How to Apply Below

Prime Data Centers develops, acquires, and operates data centers for some of the world's largest enterprises. A private firm owned by a group controlling $6 billion in assets, with a 15-year tenure in technology and real estate development, Prime provides customers with ownership options and dynamic leasing models, defining a true corporate partnership.

About the role

Prime Data Centers is seeking a Manager, Indirect Procurement to lead sourcing and category management across our indirect spend categories — the recurring goods and services that support day-to-day operations outside of capital construction, IT, and corporate services. This role owns the intake-to-award process for indirect requests, builds category strategies for recurring spend areas, and drives adoption of preferred suppliers and sourcing best practices across the business.

You will partner closely with business stakeholders across the company to capture indirect demand, run competitive sourcing events, and negotiate agreements that balance speed, cost, and quality. This is an individual contributor role with the opportunity to bring structure and visibility to a category of spend that has historically been fragmented and decentralized.

What you'll do Sourcing & Category Strategy
  • Own sourcing and category management for indirect spend categories, developing strategies that consolidated demand and reduce maverick spend.
  • Build and maintain preferred supplier lists for common indirect categories, driving adoption across business units.
  • Lead competitive sourcing events (RFP/RFQ/RFI) for indirect categories, from scope definition through supplier selection and award.
  • Partner with the Procurement Data & Analytics function to identify spend consolidation and savings opportunities across fragmented indirect categories.
  • Own the indirect intake and requisition process, working with business stakeholders to translate ad hoc requests into structured sourcing engagements.
  • Educate and guide business partners on procurement policy, approved suppliers, and the standard sourcing process to reduce off-process buying.
  • Triage incoming indirect requests by spend size and risk, applying the right level of sourcing rigor to each.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and service levels with indirect suppliers across a broad and varied category set.
  • Manage supplier performance and relationship health for key indirect vendors, including renewals and periodic business reviews.
  • Partner with Legal on contract terms and risk allocation appropriate to the size and nature of each indirect engagement.
Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Serve as procurement's front door for indirect spend, partnering with stakeholders across Finance, Operations, HR, and other functions.
  • Partner with the Procurement Transformation & Governance function to align indirect sourcing practices with company-wide process design and policy standards.
  • Collaborate with the IT and Corporate Services Procurement Managers to ensure clean category boundaries and avoid duplicated supplier relationships.
The Ideal Profile
  • Organized Operator: You bring structure to a high-volume, high-variety intake process without slowing the business down.
  • Consultative Partner: You can guide a first-time requester through the sourcing process patiently, while still driving toward competitive outcomes.
  • Data-Informed: You use spend data to spot consolidation opportunities and prioritize where sourcing effort will have the biggest impact.
  • Adaptable: You can flex your approach from a quick tail-spend purchase to a multi-supplier competitive event within the same week.
Qualifications
  • 4–7 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or category management, ideally with exposure to a broad, high-volume indirect spend portfolio.
