Position: Procurement Manager (CAPEX& Energy)

Within our Corporate Supply Chain and Procurement team located in Denver – Leprino is seeking a Procurement Manager (Capital Projects) to lead strategic sourcing and commercial activities for major capital projects across our manufacturing network. This role sits at the intersection of Procurement, Engineering, and Operations, helping turn complex project requirements into effective sourcing strategies, supplier agreements, and commercial outcomes. From major equipment purchases to construction and process-related services, you’ll help ensure our capital investments deliver the right quality, cost, and long-term value.

What You’ll Do:
  • Lead procurement activities for complex, multimillion-dollar capital projects across Leprino’s manufacturing network, from early project planning through sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and execution.
  • Partner closely with Engineering and Technical Services to develop procurement strategies, scopes of work, sourcing plans, and project timelines that support successful capital-project delivery.
  • Lead competitive sourcing activities for capital equipment, construction, process-related services, and other project requirements, including supplier identification, RFP/RFQ development, bid evaluation, and supplier selection.
  • Lead commercial negotiations with equipment manufacturers, contractors, engineering firms, and other project partners, balancing cost, quality, schedule, risk, and business requirements.
  • Evaluate complex project scopes using total cost of ownership (TCO) and strong commercial judgment to identify cost drivers, sourcing alternatives, and opportunities to create long-term value.
  • Partner with Legal using established contract templates to review commercial terms, identify areas of risk, recommend appropriate positions, and negotiate agreements with suppliers.
  • Serve as the primary Procurement partner to Technical Services and other project stakeholders, maintaining strong working relationships while keeping sourcing activities, scope requirements, and project commitments moving forward.
  • Maintain capital-project procurement documentation, commitments, and related information in SAP to support accurate reporting, financial controls, and audit readiness.
  • Partner with Finance and Accounting to support capital-project budgeting, forecasting, commitments, change management, and project financial reporting.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address issues that arise throughout project execution.
  • Support energy procurement activities and coordinate with Leprino’s third-party energy partners as needed.
  • Share strategic sourcing practices, commercial knowledge, and contract guidance with plant and functional procurement partners across the organization.
You Have At Least (Required Qualifications):
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Eight (8) years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, or a closely related field
  • Five (5) years of experience leading strategic sourcing activities for capital projects, capital equipment, construction, industrial services, or other complex project-based spend.
  • Demonstrated experience developing sourcing strategies, taking complex scopes of work to market, evaluating supplier proposals, and leading competitive sourcing processes.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating complex, high-value commercial agreements with suppliers, contractors, equipment manufacturers, or service providers.
  • Experience evaluating sourcing decisions using total cost of ownership, commercial analysis, and other cost and value considerations beyond initial purchase price.
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, project teams, or other technical stakeholders to execute sourcing strategies.
  • The ability to travel up to 15% based on project and business needs.
