Job Title: Field Service Technician
This position is for a hands‑on Field Service Technician who will support Rivian vehicle repairs. The role requires a collaborative, team‑oriented individual capable of working in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment. While based in a primary location, the technician may operate remotely or travel to various locations, including the production plant, to provide vehicle support as business needs demand.
Core Responsibilities- Perform or assist with vehicle diagnosis, repairs, installations, and inspections at service centers or in the field directly at customer locations.
- Identify and explain the Rivian product line, EV framework, tools, and accessories.
- Utilize technical resources to follow Rivian repair procedures efficiently while maintaining quality and safety.
- Conduct road tests to ensure repair quality.
- Manage parts operations, including ordering, receiving, shipping, and inventory.
- Provide feedback on areas of improvement to senior technicians or leadership.
- Support service campaigns and containment initiatives.
- Document all work and technical notes for internal and external use.
- Work collaboratively with a team spirit and maintain high quality work with minimal supervision.
- Communicate professionally in customer‑facing situations.
- Stay current with technical skills and complete required training.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
- Minimum 21 years old.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (no suspensions or revocations within the last 3–5 years).
- Preferred ability to drive a non‑commercial truck and trailer.
- Available for a 40‑hour work week, including weekends, holidays and shifts during early morning, evening, or overnight hours.
- Proficient with laptops or computers in Windows or Mac environments.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Physical task capability: lifting up to 50 lbs., standing, walking, and using hands for grasping tools.
- Fluent English reading and speaking.
- Hands‑on automotive shop experience highly preferred; recent automotive graduates also encouraged.
- Background in electric vehicle (EV) or hybrid repair is a plus.
- Experience in startup environments valued.
- Experience with parts departments, billing, and work order management systems preferred.
- Low Voltage & Electrical Systems – foundational electricity theory, DVOM use, schematic reading; advanced candidates understand CAN, LIN networks and wiring repairs.
- High Voltage Systems – safe high‑voltage operations, component monitoring, fault diagnosis.
- Chassis, Brakes & Suspension – tire mounting, alignment, brake system components, advanced dynamic issue repair.
- Thermal Systems – coolant drain, refrigerant handling (609 certification), A/C system diagnosis.
- Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) – component replacement, calibration, system functionality knowledge.
- Body & Glass – glass removal, windshield replacement, body panel adjustment, leak diagnosis.
Hourly Rate for Colorado Based Applicants:
Min: $24.75 – Max: $36.44
