• Clean and sanitize all assigned surfaces, including vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping, polishing floors, and emptying waste bins in offices, public areas, and facilities.
• Disinfect high‑use areas daily, including restrooms, kitchens, indoor and outdoor zones throughout the Zoo.
• Properly handle and clean biohazard waste using the correct PPE.
• Pick up litter and debris throughout the zoo grounds.
• Participate in snow removal operations and remain available for a variable schedule, including early hours, weekends, evenings, and occasional holidays as an on‑call snow removal staff member.
• Operate light equipment for minor and major projects.
• Adhere to established procedures to maintain a safe working environment, including safe storage, disposal of trash, and reporting maintenance concerns.
• Secure all assigned doors and replenish disposable products (soap, paper towels, toilet paper, etc.).
• Maintain and clean equipment properly.

1:30 PM to 10:00 PM, five days a week, including both weekend nights.

Hourly salary range: $19.30 – $20.52.

• Work experience as a custodian, janitor, or similar role.
• Knowledge of industry equipment and facility maintenance.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; able to follow oral, written, or illustrated instructions.
• Knowledge of safety hazards and necessary precautions to establish a safe work environment.
• Ability to follow all DZCA safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

• Must pass a physical examination, background check, and pre‑employment drug and alcohol screen.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
