Division of Facilities Management - Northern Division

The Division of Facilities Management is a customer-driven support organization responsible for providing facilities management services to all CDHS agencies and offices. These services include building and grounds maintenance, custodial, capital construction (budgeting and contract management), utilities management, vehicle fleet management, building space leasing allocation, and facilities planning services. The division is a centralized statewide team divided into three districts and a central office, combining extensive facilities knowledge and a commitment to reliable, responsive service to meet customer expectations 100% of the time.

Facilities managed by the Division of Facilities Management (DFM) include 1,400 acres of land and 349 buildings comprising 3.8 million square feet.

Facilities served include:
Colorado Mental Health Hospital at Fort Logan (CMHHFL), Department of Human Services (DHS) at 1575 Sherman St., Wheat Ridge Regional Center (WRRC and group homes), and Division of Youth Services (DYS) facilities (Prairie Vista, Gilliam, Lookout Mountain Campus, Marvin W. Foote, Mount View Campus, Platte Valley). The division provides as-needed support to the Veterans Community Living Center in the district.

Total facilities are approximately 1.9 million sq. ft. at multiple sites within the Northern Region.

This unit performs housekeeping and custodial services to ensure facilities and client environments are cleaned and maintained according to regulatory standards, providing a safe, sanitary environment for clients and staff. It aims to meet the facilities needs of CDHS Northern Region customers while managing available resources to provide a high-quality physical environment. The unit also maintains a pleasant, safe, and sanitary environment for clients, personnel, and visitors in CDHS buildings.

This position provides custodial services for a wide range of CDHS agencies, including CMHHFL, DHS at 1575 Sherman St., WRRC (including group homes), and DYS facilities (Prairie Vista, Gilliam, Lookout Mountain Campus, Marvin W. Foote, Mount View Campus, Platte Valley).

The position is required to meet and maintain all regulatory requirements set by JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations) and the Colorado Department of Public Health and other regulatory agencies.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Performs daily cleaning, sanitizing, and servicing of assigned work area according to schedules and procedures using disinfectant cleaners, chemicals, and equipment (sweeping, dust mopping, wet mopping, vacuuming, restroom cleaning, etc.).
  • Performs daily detail cleaning of assigned area (washing walls, doors, frames, sills, windows, baseboards, fixtures, furnishings, ceilings, vents, light fixtures).
  • Performs weekly project work within all areas including hard floor and carpet care.
  • Performs project floor work including buffing, scrubbing, stripping, waxing, sealing of hard floors, and spot cleaning, shampooing, and extracting carpeted floors using appropriate cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Collects and disposes of trash and biohazard waste, ensuring proper containment and disposal.
  • Assists in moving furniture, appliances, equipment, supplies, etc. for project floor work and involves manual handling or moving equipment as needed.
  • Cleans and services equipment, maintains janitorial closet, stock levels, and chemical labeling requirements.
  • Snow removal as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

This is a full-time, in-person, essential position that may require responding to callbacks after hours for essential or emergency services. Shift work may be required and this position is eligible for shift differential.
