Deputy Executive Director | Sims-Fayola Foundation (Denver | Onsite)

The Sims-Fayola Foundation is entering a phase in which impact depends not only on vision and values but also on predictable execution, clear authority, and durable internal systems
.

We are seeking a Deputy Executive Director (DED) to serve as the senior internal leader responsible for day-to-day operations, staff supervision, and cross-division coordination. This role exists to ensure that our people, systems, and decisions function coherently so that Vision 2030 can move from intent to sustained, population-level impact for boys and young men of color.

The Deputy Executive Director is the primary internal authority for the organization. This role translates strategy into execution, enforces accountability, and maintains organizational coherence, allowing the CEO to remain focused on vision, fundraising, policy leadership, and external partnerships.

This is not a symbolic leadership role. It is designed for an experienced operator who is comfortable holding authority, managing people, and making hard decisions in a mission-driven organization.

Work Schedule & Location

This is an onsite leadership role. The Deputy Executive Director is expected to be in the office Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the option to work remotely on Fridays.

This role is for leaders who:
  • Have experience managing people and complex operations
  • Are highly organized and strong project managers who can drive work from plan to execution
  • Know how to manage up by anticipating needs, surfacing risks early, and bringing clear options, not problems, to the CEO
  • Value clarity, accountability, and systems-building
  • Are comfortable operating alongside a founder without relying on proximity
