Western Veterinary Partners is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Vice President of Human Resources.

The Vice President of Human Resources will be responsible for developing and executing a scalable, data-driven people strategy that supports WVP’s high-growth, acquisition-focused environment. This leader will report to the Chief People Officer and work closely with the Executive Leadership Team, field leadership, and corporate teams to optimize the full employee lifecycle across both corporate and practice environments.

The VP of HR will lead enterprise-wide initiatives across talent management, employee relations, compliance, HR technology, performance management, succession planning, organizational design, and employee experience. This role requires a strategic thinker who can operate at both executive and operational levels while building strong partnerships across the organization.

We are seeking candidates located in Denver Metro market open to a hybrid work schedule, in office three days a week, with travel as needed.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Executive Partnership
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team on all people-related matters.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive people strategy aligned with business objectives and rapid growth initiatives.
  • Reinforce and cultivate a high-performance culture through clear performance expectations, feedback systems, and accountability structures.
  • Use people analytics and workforce data to identify trends, gaps, risks, and opportunities; recommend and implement solutions.
Talent Management & Organizational Effectiveness
  • Lead enterprise talent management processes including:
    • Performance management
    • Compensation planning and reviews
    • Talent reviews and succession planning
    • Organizational design and headcount planning
    • Employee engagement surveys and action planning
  • Develop retention strategies in partnership with Operations to address practice-level and corporate talent challenges.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Recruiting, Organizational Development, Marketing, Business Development, and Finance to ensure alignment on workforce planning and organizational changes.
HR Operations & Process Excellence
  • Evaluate, design, and implement scalable HR systems and automation solutions to support continued expansion.
  • Optimize and standardize HR processes and SOPs across regions in collaboration with People Operations Directors (East/West).
  • Ensure operational excellence in benefits administration, compliance, and employee lifecycle processes.
Employee Relations & Compliance
  • Provide guidance and support on complex employee relations matters across corporate and field teams.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across a multi-state footprint.
  • Partner with leadership to proactively address workplace concerns and continuously improve the employee experience.
Team Leadership
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing People team capable of supporting a geographically dispersed organization.
