Job Description & How to Apply Below

Denver, CO

Rocky Mountain Public Media, Inc. (RMPM) is the parent company of Rocky Mountain PBS, KUVO Jazz, and The Drop. Over a million Coloradans turn to RMPM to discover provocative and inspiring local, national, and international programming; find diverse viewpoints; score front‑row center seats to world‑class performances; and experience lifelong learning opportunities every month.

As the Director of RMPM's newly formed Product & Delivery team, you will lead a team of Program Managers/Product Owners and personally own a focused portfolio of the organization's most strategically significant products and cross‑functional initiatives. You will help redefine how RMPM plans, prioritizes, and delivers, leading the shift from a project‑delivery culture to a product‑outcomes culture in which work is framed around audience needs, mission, and the business outcomes it must produce.

You will coach and develop two Program Managers/Product Owners, ensure the portfolio is sized and sequenced to the team's capacity, and serve as a senior thought partner to the Chief Digital Transformation Officer and the broader executive team on product and delivery strategy, organizational dependencies, and capital and capacity trade‑offs. This role reports to the Chief Digital Transformation Officer and operates as a peer to other senior leaders accountable for outcomes across RMPM, RMPBS+, KUVO Jazz, and The DROP.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, evaluate, and develop a team of Program Managers/Product Owners, setting clear expectations, providing direct feedback, and building the team's capability to operate with a product and outcomes mindset.
  • Own a focused portfolio of RMPM's most strategically significant products and cross‑organizational programs, framing each around the audience value and outcomes it must deliver and personally driving the hardest, highest‑leverage initiatives.
  • Define and steward the operating model for the Product & Delivery team: intake, prioritization, road mapping, planning cadences, status reporting, risk management, and retrospectives, and ensure it is applied consistently and pragmatically across the team's portfolio.
  • Partner with the Chief Digital Transformation Officer and executive peers to shape the overall product and portfolio roadmap: grounding sequencing in audience insight and evidence, identifying when to invest, pivot, or stop, and ensuring trade‑offs are explicit and well‑informed.
  • Establish shared standards, templates, and quality bars for the team (e.g., program briefs, RACI, OKRs, decision memos, status formats) and continuously evolve them based on what is and is not working.
  • Surface cross‑portfolio dependencies, risks, and resourcing constraints early, and lead the resolution of the most complex or politically sensitive escalations.
  • Serve as a senior delivery voice in executive forums and board‑adjacent settings (including the technology committee of the board), translating program detail into concise, decision‑ready narratives for the CDO, executive team, and board members as needed.
  • Partner with the Chief Experience Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and other product and program managers to ensure products and programs are framed and resourced for outcomes, not outputs, and that delivery accountability is clear at every step.
  • Champion RMPM's shift from project to product orientation, modeling the behaviors, language, and disciplines required and explicitly building them into how the Program Managers lead their portfolios.
  • Actively participate in RMPM's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) training program, using key standards and teachings of DEI training in day‑to‑day work.
  • Other tasks as assigned and/or required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, technology, communications, media, or related field; advanced degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience leading increasingly complex, cross‑functional programs in media, technology, digital products, or comparable mission‑driven environments, including at least 2 years directly managing other program, product, or delivery professionals.
  • Demonstrated success…
