Job Overview
The Federal Project Manager will function in a project leadership capacity on Department of Defense contracts, managing multiple small to medium sized services projects, Federal clients, and supporting business development and contract negotiations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage multiple small to medium sized services projects.
- Manage multiple Federal clients and/or projects.
- Support aspects of business development, obtaining new/repeat business on medium size projects, and supporting contract negotiations with client peers.
- Reduce risk to B&V by managing profit on fixed price engineering projects, managing risk implementing new technology or working with new clients.
- Act as a project manager and lead a project team, managing project budgets, costs, and deliverables.
- Business Development – Identify client requirements, maintain relationships, lead project team preparing and presenting project estimates and proposals.
- Business Acumen – Negotiate contract commercial terms, manage budgets, costs, and receivables, manage contracts and legal issues, analyze and report health metrics.
- Execution – Utilize B&V project management methodology, manage changes and risk on scope, cost, schedule, quality, safety, procurement, and warranty plan.
- Leadership – Communicate expectations, manage performance of direct reports, motivate, coach, and mentor professionals; delegate work and manage conflict.
- 10+ years’ experience working with A/E design teams associated with the U.S. Department of Defense.
- Experience with full project lifecycle from proposal to design to construction.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License or Registered Architect (RA).
- Experience with AFCEC, NAVFAC and/or USACE.
- Ability to obtain a Security Clearance.
- Experience with business development and leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Complete pre-employment onboarding requirements including background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.
